Make a czech crystal bracelet

This czech crystal bracelet project is suited for beginners through to more advanced beaders. There are only two techniques to learn:

  • How to form a loop with your round nose pliers.
  • How to open and close jump rings.

Czech crystals are readily available in the most beautiful colours as well as different sizes. They can be used for anything from a pair of casual earrings to the most gorgeous wedding jewelry. The advantage of czech crystals unlike many other crystals is the price tag. You can buy a strand of czech crystals for a decent price at most bead stores.

What you need:

  • round nose pliers
  • wire cutters
  • chain nose pliers
  • ring clasp (with a ring of 13mm)
  • 15 inch (38cm) -18 inch (46cm) of belcher chain with links of 6mm
  • 2 czech crystal beads of 13mm, colour of your choice
  • 1 czech crystal bead of 16mm, colour of your choice
  • 2 rhinestone rondelle beads (14mm)
  • wire

1. Grip the end of the wire with your round nose pliers.

2. Form a loop with your round nose pliers.

3. Tilt the loop to make it central to the wire.

4. String your beads and rondelle beads onto the wire.

5. Form a loop above the last strung bead with your round nose pliers.

6. Cut off the excess wire with your wire cutters.

7. Cut two lengths of chain according to your bracelet size. I've used 21 links for each.

8. Open your jump ring (or an extra link of your chain - that's what I did) with your round nose and chain nose pliers, and slide the last link of one of the chains onto it. Don't close it yet.

9. This is no actual step, but just a photo to show you what you want to achieve by using the jump ring.

10. Slide the other chain onto the jump ring as well and close the jump ring.

11. Cut two more chains of 21 links each (or more).

12. Attach both chains to the other loop of the beads by using a jump ring.

13. Open a jump ring and slide the ends of the two chains as well as the clasp onto it. Close the jump ring.

14. Your bracelet will now look like this.

15. Do the same for the other side. Open a jump ring and slide the ends of the two chains as well as the clasp onto it. Close the jump ring.

And the result…your own czech crystal bracelet!
